Hello and Happy Friday! I decided to join in The Positivity Wave. Originally started by Meggy @Chocolate’n’Waffles. It is a time to spread some positivity amongst all the doom and gloom on social media and in the news. Please feel free to join in with your own Happy Friday post.

Well, it is well into fall, so even though my pool is still open, I decided it was time to change my header image. I have not posted in a few weeks and really need to try harder to do this every week. I am only going to include the highlights because there are so many wonderful things happening in my life.

Last weekend, I went on a women’s retreat with 14 women from my church. We went to a Christian Camp on the shore of Lake Huron. It was wonderful for so many reasons: my first time seeing many of these women since December 2019, wonderful discussions and sharing, great food, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, reflection and realization of God in my life.

I spent a weekend at my friend’s cottage at the end of September. We went out to eat a couple of times, went for some nice walks and I had my first Pumpkin Pie Blizzard from Dairy Queen, It was delicious.

The weather has been so good. It has been in the mid to high 70s over the last few weeks, so the pool has had a lot of use. My youngest grandson has loved being able to use his floatie and not have to hang on to anyone.

I have been wanting to power wash my garage for a while now. It was pretty grungy looking and probably has not been cleaned in over ten years. I borrowed my friend’s power-washer and went at it. Boy does it look good and I feel so good looking at it now.

Now that my two older grandchildren are back in school, I have the youngest over every Thursday for Grandma and Petey time. We have done this for three weeks now. We read, play, go for walks, to the park and even watch a little T.V. I love spending time with him.

I always feel good when I accomplish a chore or job around the house. Whether it is cutting the grass, putting on fertilizer, spraying for grubs or pulling weeds, I love that I am able to take care of my house and property.

My mom passed away over twenty years ago and my sister had all her jewelry put away. This week, she dug it out and brought it over. She did not have a lot of expensive things, but there was one bracelet and matching earrings that I had always liked. I found them, jumbled in the bottom of her jewelry box. I am so happy to have them and will think of her every time I wear them.

Over the last couple of weeks it has been both Daughter’s and Son’s Day. I am so lucky to have a wonderful son and daughter who I love with all my heart.

This weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving. I will be having my children and their families over for dinner on Sunday. They will also be helping me put the cover on the pool to close it for the year. I am looking forward to spending time with all of them.

Because of Covid, many of our festivals are still not running. There is a small town in my county named Ruthven, that has an apple festival each year. Because it was not being held this year, many local businesses got together and created this Apple Fest in a Basket. The best thing is that the funds raised went to the Community Living Association for residences. I purchased one and it was amazing: Apples, Pop corn, Maple Syrup, Apple Syrup, Apple Jelly, Apple Butter, Cinnamon Apple Tea, Local Honey, Apple Cider Vinegar, oven gloves and a trivet with apples on them and other goodies.

As always, I am grateful for all my many blessing in life: a home, food, water, fresh air, animals and bugs, sunsets, family , friends, books, and so many more things that I often take for granted.

Finally, a few t-shirts that I need to buy, I hope they make you smile.

What are you thankful for this week? What was positive in your life?
