Excellent Historical Fiction: The Fountains of Silence, The Nature of Fragile Things, and Sisters Under the Rising Sun #BookReview #Audiobooks #JIAM2024 #2024AudiobookChallenge #LibraryLoveChallenge2024

I so enjoy historical fiction, especially if I learn something or if the book is set during a time or event that I haven’t read about before. The Nature of Fragile Things is a mystery set before, during and after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The Fountains of Silence is set after WW2, during the Franco regime in Spain. Sisters of the Rising Sun is based on real women who were nurses from Australia and were captured by the Japanese when they entered WW2. All three of these books were 5 star reads for me and I recommend them all.

It took awhile for my name to get to the top of the queue, but I’m glad I was patient. Both of these were great stories and I loved the friendships and found family themes.
