Welcome to Itβs Monday! What are you Reading? Itβs hosted by Kathryn from Book Date, this is a weekly event to share what weβve read in the past week and what we hope to read, plus whatever else comes to mind.
I had a busy week, and enjoyed getting out and spending time with family and friends. I went out for lunch with a couple that I hadn’t seen since before Christmas and we had a wonderful catch up. My sister and BIL were also there. I also had lunch with 3 friends, 2 of them I hadn’t seen since before Christmas and we had lots of laughs and played cards, it was so much fun. I went out to dinner with another group and we ate vegan. This was my first time and I really enjoyed it. I did lots of work outside, weather permitting, and am ready for the work on the redesign of my large garden to start this week. The chiropractor said I am good for now and don’t need to go back to see him, unless something happens, so I am off to golf this morning. I have watched lots of hockey and caught up on the final season of Young Sheldon, as well as the second season of ghosts. Along with all that, I read and listened to lots of great books.Β
So, what did I read or listen to last week? I was able to read or listen to 12 books/audiobooks. 8 were on my TBR that I set for the week, so I did pretty well sticking to it this week. I read 3 books for blog tours, and listened to several of audiobooks from Netgalley (backlist) and the library. I also picked up a couple from KU, although I have only read one so far. I had planned on keeping up with reviews this week, but have only reviewed 10 of these books, but one is an upcoming blog tour and is scheduled for May. I do hope to post a couple more later today. With 1 left from the previous weeks to review, I am 3 books behind for 2024. Clicking on the cover will take you to my review, if I have posted it.
Reading Now: 1 book for a blog tour, and one from NG
Β
What Will I Read Next? Maybe…..
I have three books to read/listen to for blog tours, two books from my physical shelves, some books on my Netgalley or Edelweiss shelf, 1 for my top ten lists, and a couple of books/audiobooks from the library. I still have a lot more middle grade/children’s fiction novels on my Netgalley backlist, so I want to read a couple of them, but haven’t done a good job getting to them. I know I will not read all of these over the next week, but these are the books I hope to choose from.Β
Β Β Β
An ambitious TBR this week, but I’ve been reading/listening to 12 to 14 books for the last few weeks, so I might get to most of them unless I go off and mood read π. I have been listening to a lot of audiobooks while doing things around the house and riding the exercise bike. What did you read this week? What are your upcoming reading plans?

Sounds like you had a busy, fun week. I also have The Boy Who Cried Bear on my list, but I’ve decided to finish the Rockton series first before continuing with this one.

Thanks, Rachel. My plan is to make it easier to take care of as I get older, so it will be smaller and only a few plants. The rest will be stone, but I can still put pots in it as well. I really enjoyed The Boy Who Cried Bear. Still trying to get to Summer Reading.

He says he will be here later this week because of the rain he got behind on his last job. I will definitely take some pictures. I enjoyed golf. I took a cart, so I didn’t have to pull my clubs and I feel fine. I will try walking next week. I hope I have added to your TBR shelf, Sandy. ππππ·ποΈββοΈ

I did read somewhere that it is far better to push your clubs rather than pull them. Something to try, maybe. Glad you enjoyed your golf. ππ€

Great week with books and friends! I have to smile at the title “hissy fit!” I haven’t heard that phrase in a while.

I loved the Enola Holmes film – and while I didn’t know it was based on a book, it’s not surprise:). It sounds as if you’ve planned for a busy week after a lovely sociable one last week:)). I hope the gardening goes smoothly and you thoroughly enjoy all your reads and listens, Carla.

Thanks, Sarah. There are several books in the series, and I didn’t realize that until after I watched the first movie. They are fun and my library has them all on audiobook.

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the series, Jo. I have it on my Netgalley Backlist and thought it was time to get to it. Maybe I will do a binge read/listen. I was able to find the second one on audio.
