Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Marlene of Reading Reality. Itβs all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in a physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, books for review from authors, Netgalley, Edelweiss or publishers, as well as gifts or books you won. If you click on the covers, it will take you to Goodreads, if it is on there.Β
One of my goals for 2023 was to request fewer ARCS, and last week although I received 16 books from NG and EW, I didn’t request them. They were either pending from previous weeks or were invitations. This week, I did request a couple and some that were pending were approved.Β Last week I had 19 books and 2 audiobooks pending between Netgalley and Edelweiss, this week I have 18 books and 3 audiobooks still pending. This week, I did much better with 7 new ARCs added to my TBR. My biggest problem is that I read so many different genres there are always so many books that call to me.
Netgalley: 9 Books (3 Invitations, 2 pending approved, 4 requested)
Β
Nothing from Edelweiss, KU or Scribd
Library: 2 Audiobooks, 2 ebooks
Β
Audible: 3 Credits Used, 1 AudiblePlus
I added 9 ARCs to Mount TBR, and added 6 audiobooks from Audible/Library and 2 ebooks from the library (already on my TBR).π΅π¬ I had a great week reading and listening to books this week and am on track to finish 11 this week, so my TBR mountain basically stayed the same.Β
What did you add to your shelves this week? Do any of these books appeal to you?

Enjoying gray and gloomy weather because it lets you focus on your reading? Only fellow bibliophiles would understand that!π

Great haul, Carla! I have The Forest Grimm too. It sounds great. And I recently bought a copy of Loathe to Love You – can’t wait to squeeze it in sometime soon. I hope you enjoy all of these!

Thanks, Julie. I might end up buying a copy, because I’m not sure if I can fit it in before it is due back at the library.

Great haul, Carla. There are a few here I want to request, but I won’t as I have too many right now.

I read one from Gaynor, and it was lovely. This one sounds good too. I just finished Exes & O’s. It was fun, and I ended up loving the hero. Hope you enjoy them all

That’s good to hear Sam. I have to listen to it over the next couple of days as it is due back to the library. The weather has been gray and cooler here, so I have had a couple of days alone in my Villa to read and/or listen to books. It was nice as I have been busy with friends since the beginning of the year.

I have become far more discriminating on the books I request on Netgalley and Edelweiss too and try to focus on books that I have learned are unlikely to be purchased by my local library. I hope that you enjoy Someone Elseβs Shoes as much as I did Carla! Have a wonderful week ahead.

I am trying to do better and will continue to be more discerning. Of course, I now have a huge list of books that I have recommended to the library or that I am waiting for. I hope I love Someone Else’s Shoes, Jodie. Have a great week as well.

I’m trying, Susan, in more ways than one. π I am starting to keep a list of ones I want and then watching for them at the library. Less pressure, not that I really worry about pressure. π
