I have been reading posts and emails from bloggers I follow and have decided on a few challenges for 2019. I will use books for multiple challenges, but will try to be original if I can. Each challenge will have its own page, but will all be linked to this master page. I will update them at the end of every month. The ones I plan on participating in are:
A to Z Challenge: I started this challenge last year with the caveat being I had to own a physical copy of the book I read. I did the first half of the alphabet, and plan to finish the second half this year.
Also working on the COYER challenge that started on December 1st. I posted my sign up post earlier, but now will create a tracking page where I can keep track of what books I have read that fit the criteria.
Colour Challenge: I found this one on Nightcap Books. It looks like a relatively easy one, but fun. I have done this one before in a Goodreads Group I was in, but not for a while now.
I am also doing The Goodreads Challenge like most of the people who read my blog. I set my goal on Goodreads for 600 Books. This will include everything I read and listen to, including children’s books.
Genre Book Bingo is another that I found on Darinda’s page, Nightcap Books. I think this will be the most difficult one for me as I tend to read the same genres over and over.
The 2019 Audiobook Challenge is hosted by Hot Listens and Caffeinated Reviewer. This one is great for fans of audiobooks. I’m going for the Marathoner, which is for 50+ audiobooks.
My final challenge is Historical Fiction Reading 2019. I found this one on The Secret Library Book Blog, a blog I enjoy, check it out if you haven’t already.
So, there you have it. Seven challenges for the 2019 reading year. I will be participating in various readathons and mini-challenges on Goodreads as well. I think these challenges give me the nudge to read specific genres, styles etc. I hope I have fun.

600 books?!? Carla, you are the queen! That is just unfathomable to me. I’d love to consistently read 150, with maybe 50 being children’s books, but for 2019, I’m dialing back a bit. However, I will be in your corner cheering you all the way! And you have all those challenges to keep things interesting. Happy New Year!

Thanks Myndi and Happy New Year to you as well. We are at different places in our lives, my kids are grown and on their own and I am retired. I could never read like this even 5 years ago. It is a great pleasure for me now.

I am ashamed Carla. I wrote a post last year about the A-Z challenge and I didn’t even start it. (Hanging my head in shame). I DO plan to proceed with it, probably in March. You have half the alphabet done and I’m still working on ‘A’. Typical…
Good luck with you other challenges as well.

I liked that there was no time set on your post, that is why I am now picking up where I left off. It was a push for me to read some of the books on my shelf. Whenever you are ready jump in, I always enjoy seeing what you are reading.
