Carolyn Brown Readathon: The Sandcastle Hurricane, The Sunshine Club, Hummingbird Lane & The Riverbend Reunion #BookReview #Audiobook #BeatTheBacklist2023 @thecarolynbrown

In my May plans, I set a goal for myself to read some of the Carolyn Brown books on my TBR. I set the week of May 21st to 28th to read between 4 and 6 of her books. The first four I read were all available on KU with the read/listen option, so that is what I did. Carolyn Brown’s books are Christian Fiction, usually set in small towns, have some romance, fantastic friendships and some kind of issue. Women’s Fiction that I enjoy. I also love that they all include multi-generational friendships.

Two historical fiction stories, that although both set during WWII, are very different from each other. Both are stories that pulled me in, with great characters and interesting stories. I listened to both of them and the audio made the stories more alive to me.

Stories of Friendship: Lifesaving for Beginners by Josie Lloyd, The Wedding Dress Sewing Circle by Jennifer Ryan #BookReview #Audiobook @JosieLloydbooks @JenniferiRyan @HQstories @RandomHouse

Stories of friendship, especially multi-generational friendships, are ones that I find uplifting and enjoyable. Lifesaving For Beginners and The Wedding Dress Sewing Circle are very different from each other, but both have themes of friendship and support, as well as strong independent female characters. I enjoyed them both for different reasons and recommend them.
