Crime Thrillers: The Little Grave & Stolen Daughters #BookReview #FinishingTheSeries2024 @Bookouture @Carolyn_Arnold

I started the Detective Amanda Steele series and #3, and wanted to go back and read the two that I had missed. I finally got to them and I am glad I did. It answered a few questions that I had about things mentioned in the later books. If you enjoy a good Detective series/Crime Thriller, I recommend this series by Carolyn Arnold.

Christmas is Almost Here – Christmas Mittens Murder, The Season of Second Chances, Emergency Contact, The Wish Book Christmas #20BooksForChristmas (52, 53, 54, 55) #BookReview #Audiobook

Christmas stories are my favourite at this time of year. I have found such a variety in the reads I have completed. This group is no exception. This post had two anthologies, one of cozy mysteries and the other stories of family and reconciliation. I also enjoyed a romcom and an historical fiction story also about family, but also with sharing and the Christmas Spirit. Scroll down for my thoughts. These books are part of my 20+ Books of Christmas, #52, 53, 54 and 55.

Love is in the Air: Sit, Stay, Love, It Happened One Midnight & Winter at the Dog and Duck #BookReview #Audiobook #BeatTheBacklist2023 #FinishingTheSeries2023

I do enjoy a good romance, especially if there are some other issues incorporated into the story. I am also catching up on reviews for books I have read in the past month or so, as well as cleaning up some challenges. These books are very different from one another, but all have romance as a central part of the story. Scroll down for my thoughts.

Fantasy Stories: The Forest Grimm & The Memory Collectors #BookReview #Audiobook #BeatTheBacklist2023

I don’t read a lot of fantasy or magical realism, but I do enjoy it once in awhile. The Forest Grimm is an interesting fairytale retelling and The Memory Collectors has special abilities and magical realism. Both of these books were enjoyable and I recommend them if you enjoy these genres. I did a read/listen with both of them and enjoyed both formats. Scroll down for my thoughts.

Books from my Top Ten Fall List: All That We Carried, A Doomful of Sugar, & Two to Tango #BookReview #Audiobook #BeatTheBacklist

Back on September 26th, I posted my top ten books that I planned to read this fall. I selected books that had covers that reminded me of fall. These are three of those books.

Cozy Mysteries: Death Knells and Wedding Bells, Murder with Orange Pekoe Tea & A Pen Dipped in Poison #BookReview #Audiobook #FinishingTheSeries2023 #BeatTheBacklist2023

Those of you who follow my blog regularly know that I love cozy mysteries. They are light and entertaining as well as being easy reads between heavier historical fiction or thrillers. I had mixed reactions to this last batch that I read. Maybe I need to take a break as I found myself just feeling okay about two of these books.

Amish Fiction: Shelter in the Storm, Courage in the Storm, Hopefully Ever After #BookReview #BeatTheBacklist2023 #FinishingTheSeries2023 @laurelblount @BerkleyPub @Zondervan @bethwiseman

I am a bit of an eclectic reader and Amish Fiction, especially Amish Romance is a genre I enjoy a lot. I read these three over the last month or so, but never got around to posting my reviews. Scroll down to read my thoughts.

Charlotte Holmes: A Murder on Cold Street & Miss Moriarity, I Presume #BookReview #Audiobook #BeatTheBacklist2023

I have been enjoying The Lady Sherlock series and recently listened to #5 and #6. Both were enjoyable and the narration by Kate Reading is wonderful. She gives voice to the main characters, yet it is subtle and she narrates them more as if she is reading me a story. This works well for this series.

K-9 Stories to Enjoy: Under Pressure by Sara Driscoll, Standing Dead by Margaret Mizushima #BookReview #Audiobook #BeatTheBacklist2023

I enjoy Detective or Crime books, police procedurals, especially those with K-9 characters. Under Pressure and Standing Dead are from two series I really enjoy by Sara Driscoll and Margaret Mizushima. These books can be read as standalone stories, but both series have over-reaching ARCs in the personal areas and some in the crimes, so recommend reading the full series to prevent spoilers if you want to go back after reading them.
