Some Cozy Mysteries to check out: Read or Alive, Deadly Vows, Deadly Ride #BookReview #Audiobook #CozyMystery

August was cozy mystery here at Carla Loves to Read and I spent some time catching up on some series that I had fallen behind on. I will say that although I enjoyed these books, they were not as exciting as I had hoped. They had good mysteries, but I missed the quirkiness I normally enjoy in a cozy mystery. I listened to all of these books using Hoopla through my local library.

Throwback Thursday (August 5, 2021)

Throwback Thursday meme was originally hosted by Renee@It’s Book Talk, but it seems that Renee is no longer active in the blogging community. It is a way to share some of your old favorites as well as sharing books that you’re FINALLY getting around to reading that were published over a year ago. You know, the ones waiting patiently on your TBR list while you continue to pile more titles on top of them! These older books are usually much easier than new releases to get a hold of at libraries and elsewhere. If you have your own Throwback Thursday recommendation feel free to jump on board.

Three Animal Stories, Narrated by the Animals: Mac on a Hot Tin Roof, What a Dog Knows and Frankie and Amelia #BookReview #20BooksofSummer2021

I really enjoy stories that feature animals as main characters and these three did not disappoint. I enjoyed all of them, even though they were all very different. All of these books were provided by the publisher at one time. The rating and opinions shared are my own.

Sweet Romance to Read on a Hot, Summer Day: Bookshop By The Sea, Once Upon a Royal Summer, Met Her Match #AudiobookReviews #20BooksofSummer21

Over the last two weeks, we have had hot and humid days here in Southern Ontario. Because of that, I have spent a lot of time floating in the pool, working in the garden or relaxing in the shade. Sweet romance is perfect for my mood, so I listened to these three stories. All were enjoyable, and just what I was looking for.
