I had a few visits with the grandchildren before we went back into partial lockdown and used some of that time to read together. We enjoyed it and found a few new favourites. All these books were provided through Netgalley upon request. The ratings and opinions shared are ours. Continue reading “Picture Books Mini-Reviews, #BookReviews”

Mini-Reviews: Biographies for Children, #BookReviews

It is no secret that as a retired teacher and teacher-librarian, a parent and grandparent, I love this series. I read these four to my seven year old grandson and he really enjoyed them. He liked learning about these famous people who did great things, but started as children to follow their dreams. We talked a lot about what he could do to pursue his dreams while still young. All of these books were provided by the publisherย through Netgalley. The ratings, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

With lockdown restrictions easing somewhat, my DIL went to visit some friends for the weekend. I was lucky enough to have my two oldest grandchildren sleep over. Bedtime rituals are important, and bedtime stories are a huge part of that. We read several books over the two days they were with me, but these are a few we read at bedtime. This meme was started by Rae Longest atย Powerful Women Readers.ย As I am a grandmother, who loves to read to her grandchildren, a mother who loved to read to and with her children, and a retired teacher librarian, this meme really attracted me. If you love childrenโ€™s books, or have a favourite from your childhood, join us in introducing them to a new generation of readers. Feel free to use my logo above, but link back to my post as well. I have not posted reviews of children’s books for a long time because I have not seen my grandchildren to read them to. I like to include their comments or reactions to them in my reviews. Well, we finally had some time together, so I will be posted mini-reviews of the books we read over the last couple of weeks. All the books were provided by the publishers upon my request. The ratings, ideas and opinions shared are ours alone.

Children’s Biographies – Mini Reviews

I am always on the lookout for good non-fiction for children. My grandson loves non-fiction books because he likes to learn things, (his words, not mine). Although I have not read these books to him yet, I do plan on getting many of this series for him for his upcoming birthday. All but two of these books come from the Little People, Big Dreams series. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own. Continue reading “Children’s Biographies – Mini Reviews”
