Mystery Mini-Reviews: A Winter Grave, Symphony of Secrets, The Christie Affair #BookReview #Audiobook #BeatTheBacklist2023

Combining mystery with historical fiction, climate fiction and racism brought these books to my attention. All three combined more than one element to make for an interesting mystery. Unfortunately, one of them just didn’t make the mark for me, but that is just my opinion, others certainly loved it. Scroll down to read my thoughts.

Romance Mini-Reviews: My Heart Will Find You, The Seaside Library, Bayou Sweetheart & Two Wrongs Make a Right #BookReview #Audio

Over the last month I have been mixing up my genres, and these are four of the romances that I have enjoyed. I listened to a couple of them and read the others. Technically, I’m not sure if The Seaside Library really fits and the romance isn’t the main storyline, but there is a romance. I enjoyed all of them, although some more than others.

Reading Ireland: The Queen of Dirt Island, The Winter Guest #BookReview #Audiobook #ReadingIrelandMonth23

I am very late with these reviews, but you know what they say, better late than never. These are the final two books I finished back in March for “Reading Ireland”. As you will see from the reviews, I loved one, and the other was okay.

Audiobook Mini-Reviews: Weyward by Emilia Hart, The Girl on the 88 Bus by Freya Sampson, Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult #BookReview #Audiobook

With the nicer weather, I have spent a lot of time outside working in my yard and garden. This gives me an opportunity to listen to some audiobooks. These three are very different from one another: Weyward being a story of family, women healers, and oppression, The Girl on the 88 Bus being about friendship, helping others and a little romance, and Mad Honey being a murder mystery with some implications of sexual identity. I enjoyed all of these books and their narration.

Mystery Mini-Reviews: Murder on Astor Place, Winter’s End & The Christie Affair #BookReview #Audiobook

I have tried to mix up my genres while reading and have several mysteries that I have read and/or listened to and enjoyed. They are very different from one another with settings in New York City in the late 1800s, Alaska and 1926 England. The mysteries include murder and a couple of missing person’s cases. Scroll down for my thoughts.
