As per usual, I read the listened to the last book in the Rocky Mountain K-9 Unit series before any of the others, although I didn’t know that at the time. I enjoyed it enough that I wanted to go back and read or listen to the rest of them. Although each book can be read as a standalone, there is an over reaching story arc that begins in book 1, and concludes in the final book. Each book in the series is relatively short, around 5 hours in audiobook, and just over 200 pages in paperback format. This is one of those series that is multi-authored, which always impresses me, as well as having different narrators for each book. Alaskan Rescue and Wilderness Defender are books #1 and #2 in the Alaska K-9 Unit series. Both of these stories were recently published together as an audiobook: Deadly Alaskan Pursuit. There are nine stories in this series at this time, and I am looking forward to reading or listening to more of them. Thanks to HarperAudio for my copy of this audiobook upon request. Over the last few weeks, I have read a variety of crime thrillers. They are different from one another, but all suspenseful, twisty and thoroughly entertaining. I recommend them all.

Two K-9 Thrillers: Before It’s Too Late, Storm Rising #AudiobookReview

I have been enjoying the FBI K-9 series by Sara Driscoll. I have been listening to the audiobooks from my library and they are well done by Recorded Books. Angela Dawe is the narrator for this series and I enjoy her performances a lot. Her smooth reading voice perfectly fits this chilling story. She gives each of the characters their own distinct, appealing voices including the males. I often have an issue with female narrators doing male voices, but this was not problem with Dawe’s lower range for the males in the story. I found her reading was well-paced and very enjoyable.
