Happy Holidays! Christmas Book Reviews: Christmas is for Children, Alfie the Christmas Cat, Just in Time for Christmas, It Happened One Christmas Eve #BookReview #Audiobook #20BooksForChristmas #2022AudiobookChallenge #BeatTheBacklist2022

Well, I did it. With still 14 days until the end of the month, I completed my 20 Books for Christmas 2022. Alfie the Christmas Cat was my 9th backlist book and 20th book on the original list. Of course, I didn’t stop at 20 and there are three more books reviewed her that are set at Christmas, making my total of Christmas stories since the beginning of October, 38. Will I make it to 40??

Thriller Thursday – Killing Mind, Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six #BookReview #Audiobook @Bookouture @HarperAudio

Welcome to Thriller Thursday! Read on for my reviews of Killing Mind, a crime thriller featuring D.I. Kim Stone by Angela Marsons and a Psychological Thriller, Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six by Lisa Unger. These are two authors that are among my auto-reads and although not their best books, both are enjoyable.

Happy Holidays! More Christmas Book Mini-Reviews: Let It Snow, A Match Made at Christmas, A Highlander’s Holiday Wife #BookReview #Audiobook #20BooksForChristmas #2022AudiobookChallenge

I am continuing to enjoy Christmas stories and only have one more to read for my 20 Books for Christmas Challenge. Let It Snow by Sue Moorcroft is #19, while A Match Made For Christmas and The Highlander’s Holiday Wife make #14 and #15 on the extra list. I can’t believe I have read 34 Christmas stories since the beginning of October. These three are so different from each other, but all were enjoyable and I am glad I picked them up.

Romance Anyone? Mini-Reviews: Sweet Laurel Falls, Built to Last, The Secret Society of Witches & Charmed by the Cook’s Kids #BookReview #Audiobook #BeatTheBackList2022 #2022AudiobookReview @HarperAudio

Romance is one of my favourite genres, and clean, sweet ones are my preference. Over the last few weeks I listened to two of these, and read the other two. I enjoyed both formats, and all of the stories. They are all very different from one another, but all had great characters and well-developed plots. I like when there are serious issues interwoven into the story, and I found that in all of these. I recommend them all.

Christmas/Winter Book Mini-Reviews: Christmas in Vermont, Mistle Text, The Christmas Lights, Orphan in the Snow #BookReview #20BooksForChristmas #HoHoHoRat #BeatTheBacklist2022

I am continuing to enjoy Christmas stories as I prepare for the Christmas Season. I am participating in 20 Books for Christmas, as well as the Ho-Ho-Ho Readathon, so was able to read or listen to several this week. A couple of these were not really Christmas, but more winter themed, but they were already on my list. Some are also backlist books, so I am actually ticking off 3 lists with one book. In the #20BooksForWinter these are #16, #17, and #18. One was not on that list.

Books From Series I Enjoy – Thriller Mini-Reviews: Dead Memories, What She Found, The Darkest Place #2022AudiobookChallenge #BeatTheBacklist2022 #BookReview #Audiobook @Bookouture @MacmillanAudio

There are a lot of series that I enjoy, but have gotten behind on. These three thrillers are all part of series that are among my favourites. I listened to all three of them and enjoyed the narrations very much. Two of these are crime thrillers/police procedurals and one is a legal thriller. All books that I recommend.

Mini-Reviews: The Book of Candlelight, Ink & Shadows (#3 and #4 in the Secret, Book & Scone Society) #BookReview #Audiobook #FinishTheSeries2022 #2022AudiobookChallenge

Secret, Book & Scone Society is a wonderful cozy mystery series. If you like cozy mysteries set in or around bookstores, you will love this series. If you enjoy protagonists with interesting jobs or interests, you will love meeting Nora Pennington, a self-styled bibliotherapist. If you enjoy small town stories with some quirky or wounded characters, then I recommend this series.
