True Colors Series: The White City (1) and The Blue Cloak (5) #BookReview #Audiobook #BeatTheBacklist #2022AudiobookChallenge @TantorAudio

The True Colors series is a great Christian Historical Fiction Series. The stories are based on actual historical events, but with a fictionalized story. The thing I enjoy is many of the events are not well known, so I end up heading out and doing a bit of research on my own each time. The other interesting thing is that each of the books is written by a different author, but they are all well written and follow the same theme. Although there are 12 books in the series, they can be read in any order, as they are all separate stories about different events. I am working my way through this series for my Finish a Series Challenge as well as Beat the Backlist.

Two Historical Fiction Stories: Three Sisters by Heather Morris, No Journey Too Far by Carrie Turansky #Audiobook #BookReview

I recently read two very different Historical Fiction books. Three Sisters is set during WWII and the years following the ending to that event. No Journey Too Far is set in 1919, just after the end of WWI. It is set in Canada and is the story of British Home Children and what happens after their contracts are finished. Both are based on true events and/or real people.

Saturday Morning For Kids (Picture Books Not Just For Children) #BookReview

Today’s Saturday Morning for Kids is a bit different. I am highlighting picture books that are not necessarily for children, at least not young ones. These are based on true events and I am sure people of all ages will enjoy them and possibly will learn something from one or more of them. Each of these books were originally provided through Netgalley at my request, but they are now published and I was able to get them from my library to read with one or more of my grandchildren.
