Three Thrillers/Mysteries to enjoy: One in Three, The Sun Down Motel, Amish Secrets #AudibookReview

During the month of April, I read several thriller/mystery books that I had not yet posted on my blog. They were all very different. One is a domestic thriller, one a supernatural thriller/mystery and the third is an Amish Mystery/Thriller. All of these books had been provided to me at one time by the publisher, but I chose to listen to the audiobooks which I got from the library. All the ratings and opinions shared are my own.

Two Amish Fiction Audiobooks: The Roll of the Drums, Softly Blows the Bugle by Jan Drexler #AudiobookReview

Last year a friend of mine gave me a copy of The Sound of Distant Thunder, the first book in this series. I really enjoyed it and wanted to continue with this series. When the audiobooks of the next two in the series were made available to me, I jumped at the chance to continue with this series and am glad that I did. This series is set in Ohio during and just after the Civil War. Amish people are pacifists and do not believe in war, but when they are conscripted/drafted they have to find a way to reconcile their religion with this legal responsibility. You do not necessarily need to read this series in order, but for complete enjoyment and no spoilers, I do recommend it.

3 Christian Fiction Reviews: A Wells Landing Christmas, Smoke Screen, Amish Outsider #BookReview #AudiobookReview

I read quite a bit of Amish Fiction and found these two books especially well done. The other is a faith based romantic suspense. One of the things I like is the emphasis on family. Two of these books were audiobooks and one an ebook. All were very enjoyable. Scroll down for my reviews.

Kappy King Mysteries, #AudiobookReviews

I recently read all three books in the Amish Mystery series starring Kappy King, written by Amy Lillard and published by Zebra Publishing (an imprint of Kensington). I enjoyed them all, but am not sure if this series will continue. The last book was published December 2018. If you are looking for a fun cozy series, pick them up and they are all available on audiobook as well. Continue reading “Kappy King Mysteries, #AudiobookReviews”

Morning Star by Charlotte Hubbard, Mending Fences by Suzanne Woods Fisher #AudiobookReviews #AmishFiction

I do enjoy Amish Fiction and these two recent ones that I enjoyed were both audiobooks. I want to thank Tantor Audio for this gifted copy of Morning Star, it has hooked me on this series. Mending Fences was from my local library, but also the first in a series that I will also continue reading/listening to. Amish Greenhouse Mystery Series, The Crow’s Call & The Mockingbird’s Song, Mini #BookReviews

Amish Greenhouse Mystery Series is a different type of story by Wanda E. Brunstetter. If you enjoy her Amish stories, you will not be disappointed with this series. The faith based stories you expect are still here, with a hint of a mystery (not murder though). There are some familiar characters from her Prayer Jar series, and a great setting. Both of these books were provided by the publisher through Netgalley at my request, but I also listened to parts of the stories through audiobooks I downloaded from my library though Hoopla. Both books were narrated by Rebecca Gallagher. I have listened to other books she has narrated and liked her performance. She has a pleasant voice, and uses her expression and intonation to add interest to the audio. All ratings and opinions are my own.
