Two Summer Romances Enjoyed by the Pool #AudiobookReview #20BooksOfSummer2021

As summer approaches and the weather turns warmer, I love sitting outside and either reading or listening to books. Now that the pool is open, it is great to float around and listen to summery romance stories. Both of these were enjoyable books to listen to and that I recommend.

Lighthouse Library Mystery Series: A Death Long Overdue, Deadly Ever After #BookReview

I love stories set in book stores or libraries and this is one of my favourite series. A library set in a lighthouse on the Outer Banks is a perfect setting. Eva Gates has written a series with likable characters, wonderful mysteries and interesting community stories. I enjoyed these two most recent additions to this series.

Historical Fiction Audiobooks, Mini Reviews: Our Woman in Moscow, The Orphan Collector

I recently listened to two very different Historical Fiction Books. From 1918 in Philadelphia during the Spanish Flu epidemic, I traveled to the USSR for Our Woman in Moscow, dealing with spying during the cold war. Both enjoyable in their own way.

Fable and Namesake by Adrienne Young #AudiobookReviews

Welcome to a world made dangerous by the sea and by those who wish to profit from it. Where a young girl must find her place and her family while trying to survive in a world built for men.

Young Adult Fantasy is a genre that I have been dabbling in, so when I saw some great reviews for Fable from bloggers and reviewers that I follow and trust, I decided to give this duology a try and I am glad I did. Emma Lysy narrates both of these books and does a great job. This is the first time I have listened to a book she narrated and will definitely put her on my list of voice actresses that I enjoy. Her accents and various voices for both the male and female characters were varied and well performed. It is always great to hear the same voices within a series, trilogy or duology.

One Little Lie and Three Missing Days (Books 1 & 3) in the Pelican Harbor series by Colleen Coble #AudiobookReview

A few months ago I read Two Reasons To Run by Colleen Coble (my review), the second book in the Pelican Harbor series. Over the last couple of weeks I finally read/listened to One Little Lie and Three Missing Days, the first and third books in the series. I will say that you should read these books in order as the story arc continues across the books. The books feature Jane Hardy, sheriff in Pelican Harbor and Reid Bechtol, a well-known journalist who makes documentaries. Reid originally comes to Pelican Harbor with his teenage son to make a documentary about small town sheriffs, but he stays for another reason.

Marry Christmas Murder, Veiled in Death (2 Cozy Mysteries in the Wedding Planner Mysteries) by Stephanie Blackmoore #AudiobookReview

This week, I listened to the last two books in the Wedding Planner Mystery series. In this series Mallory Shepard owns a wedding planning business in Port Quincy. She was a lawyer, but that was not what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She returned home initially to get married to a spoiled, rich man who fooled around on her and she stayed to run her own business after inheriting a large estate that she turned into a B&B. She now works with her sister Rachel in her event planning business. These books were narrated by Christa Lewis, who has a pleasant, light expressive voice. A narrator that I enjoy when listening to cozy mysteries.

Two Mini-Reviews for Thrillers: The Perfect Daughter & Playing Nice #AudiobookReview

After reading several Historical Fiction stories, I was ready for a change, so I picked up both of these thrillers/suspense stories. One is a Legal Thriller with Mental Health issues, the second is a Domestic Thriller. Both had me up way to late to finish them.

Three Thrillers/Mysteries to enjoy: One in Three, The Sun Down Motel, Amish Secrets #AudibookReview

During the month of April, I read several thriller/mystery books that I had not yet posted on my blog. They were all very different. One is a domestic thriller, one a supernatural thriller/mystery and the third is an Amish Mystery/Thriller. All of these books had been provided to me at one time by the publisher, but I chose to listen to the audiobooks which I got from the library. All the ratings and opinions shared are my own.
