Hello and Happy Friday! I decided to join in The Positivity Wave. Originally started by Meggy @Chocolate’n’Waffles. It is a time to spread some positivity amongst all the doom and gloom on social media and in the news. Please feel free to join in with your own Happy Friday post.

Temperatures are cooling rapidly with many mornings hovering around freezing, and frost on the ground. The nice thing is that the trees are beautiful with their changing colours. Here are a couple of pictures of my small town. I did not take these, but I see these sights regularly.

Halloween is such a fun time. I don’t get many, okay, I don’t get any Trick or Treaters at my house because my road has gotten too busy. Instead, I participate in Trunk or Treat at my church. I got to see lots of kids having fun and I gave out almost all of my candy. In the evening, my daughter-in-law brought my grandkids over to see me and get more treats.

Everyone on my town facebook page was asking if anyone wanted pumpkins after Halloween. A local farm/orchard/winery was taking them to feed their livestock. They break them up and mix them in with their feed. In return, for every pound of pumpkin, they will donate one pound of ground beef to a local food bank. I offered to take a load if people wanted to drop them off. Well, I got more than I bargained for, but managed to fit them all in my car.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Speaking of pumpkins, I received 9 of the small pie pumpkins, so I cooked and pureed them. I package them in 2 cup packages and freeze them. I use it all year for baking. One thing I make is pumpkin cheesecake. So yummy.

I also received another huge butternut squash and did the same with it. I now have enough squash for 6 batches of my curried butternut squash and pear soup over the coming year.

I have had a couple of friends over for dinner and served Cheesy Creamy Seafood Pasta Casserole from a recipe I got from In Diane’s Kitchen. If you haven’t checked out her blog, you need to. She posts some great recipes and some I use regularly now.

No description available.Over the last two weeks, I have had my Sweetie Petey over three different days. He suddenly decided that he likes having his picture taken and he wants grandma to play with him. I am exhausted every day when I take him home, but always happy to have spent time with him.

I have been enjoying movies over the last couple of weeks. I watched some Halloween movies: Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare Before Christmas. I am now right into the Christmas movies. I have been watching both old ones I missed over the last couple of years and some new ones. Who doesn’t love Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas? 📺🎅🎄💖

Toronto Maple Leafs 22" PVC Distressed Logo Wall Sign – shop.realsports

Hockey season is back. I have been enjoying watching the games and especially love it when my Toronto Maple Leafs win. They are doing okay and won the last two in overtime, which I love watching. Any other hockey fans out there?

I am still taking my friend to chemotherapy every two weeks. She is not really improving, but she is upbeat and positive. Her first grandchild is due in mid January, so she is adamant that she will see her born. I am in awe of her strength and positivity.

I met with a few of the ladies in my weekly bible study group for the last two Tuesdays. These were our first in-person meetings since March 2020 and the first time I have been there since November 2019 before I went to Florida. It was wonderful to share a simple dinner of soup and bread and discuss Max Lucado’s book, Jesus: The God Who Knows Your Name.

It has been great to see all my siblings over the last week. I have had dinner with them, visited, had a drink (or two) and just enjoyed being together. I am blessed that we all live within 35 km of each other and are finally allowed to meet in larger groups.

Of course I have my everyday blessings of watching sunrises, sunsets, walking in the brisk weather, seeing neighbours, being able to shop and buy food, drinking clean water, and recognizing all the wonderful things I have in my life that others might not have.

I can’t forget my reading. I have the luxury of reading or listening to wonderful books that I get from the library, publishers or am able to purchase for my enjoyment. I also appreciate all the wonderful blogs and bloggers that I follow or that follow me. I always find things of interest to read or books to add to my TBR. I appreciate all of you.

A few giggles for everyone:
