I have seen many other bloggers participate in Dewey’s 24 hour readathon and kept saying I would join in, but never knew when they were. Well, thanks to Lisa at Hopewell’s Public Library of Life, I am going to join in the weekend.
If you want to join in, sign up to READ in our October 23, 2021 (starts at 8pm EST) Readathon. You do not have to read the whole 24 hours. This is simply a statement that you intend to play along. 🙂 Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon
I have several books I am trying to finish up for my Spell the Month in Books for October, as well as some that I got from the library and am still working on. Here is my tentative list for the day. My goal will be to start reading at 8:00 am and read until I go to bed around 11:00 pm. I don’t think I can stay awake for 24 hours. I will also intersperse reading books with reading blog posts. I will not do any other silly things like laundry or cleaning though.
My goal is finish Sunflower Sisters this weekend. I tried listening to the audiobook, but it didn’t work for me, so now I am reading it. It is a much longer book than I normally tackle at over 500 pages, but I am enjoying it, so that is one I definitely hope I can finish.
A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale will satisfy the “R” in October for my Spell the Month challenge as well as being one of the books on my list for 20 Books of Christmas, so it is another I will tackle.
Finally, I have three Autumn books I am trying to read. Two of them will satisfy letters in October for Spell the Month, but I also just want to read them for my Autumn/Fall seasonal reading. Thankfully in Love has been on my TBR since last year, so it is one I definitely want to get to.
The other books that I might pick up are library books that I need to return within the next couple of weeks. They are:
Well, even if I read for 24 hours straight, I will not finish all of these, but these are the books I will choose from with the goal of finishing at least two of them. I will post periodic updates of how I am doing. Anyone else joining in?
