I enjoyed A Simple Wedding, the first book in the Heart’s Landing series and wanted to read or listen to the next two. I was not disappointed in these books and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. Narrated by Karissa Vacker, the audiobooks are easy to listen to and added to my enjoyment of the series.

A Cottage Wedding (Heart’s Landing #2) by Leigh Duncan, Karissa Vacker (Narrator)

Published June 2nd 2020 by Hallmark Publishing, Dreamscape Media, LLC

4 Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I enjoyed the first book in the Heart’s Landing series, so wanted to listen to this one when I saw it available. Heart’s Landing is a great wedding destination and want to maintain their #1 standing in Weddings Today Magazine. When they hear that the editor and head honcho of the magazine will be visiting them as a finalist in the contest, they are ready to impress. Instead of the boss, Tara Stewart, a junior writer is sent with one task, to debunk the romantic legend surrounding Heart’s Landing. Can Jason Heart, the handsome descendant of the town’s founder, and current owner of the Captain’s Cottage, convince her that the legend is true?

I liked both Tara and Jason. They both had a lot to lose. Tara needed the promotion that her boss promised her if she could find some dirt, but she has a hard time seeing beyond the legend. Jason not only needs to save his business, but that of all the local businesses that could be destroyed if the town’s reputation is ruined. I enjoyed seeing both of them fight against the attraction and love at first sight they experienced. This is a heartwarming and entertaining romance. The characters in town are delightful and I love the sense of community and how they band together. Each book highlights a different character, but all the others are still there playing a supporting role. Heart’s Landing is so well described, I can actually picture the quaint businesses and shops, along with the seaside setting. Leigh Duncan has a nice easy writing style with great and natural dialogue. There was some conflict in the story, but it is a romance, so of course they do get their happily ever after. I look forward to the next book in this series to see which character will get their HEA next. The audiobook was narrated by Karissa Vacker. I always enjoy her narration with her pleasant voice, great expression and tone. She does an okay job with the male voices using tone and inflection differentiate the characters. I recommend this book and series either to read or listen to, it is very uplifting.

A Waterfront Wedding (Heart’s Landing #3) by Leigh Duncan, Karissa Vacker (Narrator)

4 Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Heart’s Landing is the perfect spot to have a wedding, but there is only one main venue, The Captain’s Cottage. Ryan Court, who used to live in Heart’s Landing years ago, has returned home. He purchased an abandoned boat factory and is turning it into an event venue called The Boat Works. When the winners of Wedding Today’s Wedding in a Week annual contest, Briana Smith and Private First-Class Daniel Johnston arrive in Heart’s Landing, they have a lot of decisions to make, including which venue they want to have their wedding at. Ryan is quite surprised by the selection of The Boat Works since he did not even enter into the competition, because he was concerned that it might not be ready in time and did not have the entrance fee, but he really wants to hold this wedding there. Fortunately the magic of Heart’s Landing is in play because there seems to be one issue and disaster after another to derail the wedding. While all this is going on, Evelyn, Jason’s cousin and co-owner of The Captain’s Cottage is falling in love with Ryan, the boy she loved in high school. Can competitors have a relationship? Once again, I enjoyed the characters in this book. Leigh Duncan writes wonderful stories with great characters, setting and plots. This is the third book in this series and I have enjoyed them all. If you like a fun, clean romance with some angst, then I recommend you pick this one up. These books do not need to be read in order, but I recommend you do as they are all quite enjoyable. The audiobook was narrated by Karissa Vacker. She has narrated all three of the books in this series and has done a good job. She has a pleasant voice, great expression and tone. The male voices are differentiated using tone and inflection, but they are not as male sounding as I would like. Overall, this was an enjoyable audiobook that I recommend. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of the book upon request. The rating and opinions shared are my own.
