Hello and Happy Friday! I decided to join in The Positivity Wave. Originally started by Meggy @Chocolate’n’Waffles. It is a time to spread some positivity amongst all the doom and gloom on social media and in the news. Please feel free to join in with your own Happy Friday post and link to Meggy’s post so that she knows and say ‘hi’
In Southern Ontario, we have been on lockdown since December 27th. This meant schools were closed, nothing but essential businesses open, stay at home orders and no one but those living in your house were to be in your house. The good news is that it is working and our numbers are going down. As well, because I live alone, I was able to have one other household in mine. Well, that meant my son and his family. As you all know I have been going virtual learning with my granddaughter. We have had a lot of fun and really bonded. Here are the many outfits of Angela over the last while.
Now with school’s reopening next week due to the decrease in our numbers, I will have my days back. Not sure what I will do with them all, but I know reading, relaxing and watching Netflix will be part of the first week for sure.
I reorganized my living room. I have wanted to do this for so long, I finally just went ahead and moved stuff around. Even though the room looks smaller, I like the arrangement much better.
We got a lot of snow last night, over 3 inches with rain on top so it was crunchy. The great thing was that everyone was prepared and when I got up in the morning, the roads were cleared and salted, so it was safe to drive. The yard looked absolutely beautiful though.
I am still enjoying watching hockey and my team, The Toronto Maple Leafs, are in first place. Whoot, whoot!
- Got the newsletter finished in record time for my church.
- I aced all my January challenges and goals (except the one that I would decrease my TBR).
- Tried baking with Angela and she actually did a great job and even washed the dishes after we finished.
- My son’s in-laws brought me a bag full of goodies to thank me for helping my granddaugher (wine, cookies, chocolate, hot chocolate) but I got into it before I took a picture.
- I found a new drink to enjoy: hot chocolate, rumchata, and whipped cream – so yummy
This week, I was sent this video of Giant Pandas at the Washington Zoo having fun in the snow. It made me smile, so I wanted to share it with you.
I continue to believe that recognizing the good things that happen each week, means I will not dwell on the not so good things. I am truly blessed with all the good things in my life.
So to finish up, I ask that you try to be grateful for one thing each day and I am sure it will lift your spirits. What are you Grateful for today?
