Hello and Happy Friday! I decided to join in The Positivity Wave. Originally started by Meggy s@Chocolate’n’Waffles but I saw it posted by nickimags @ The Secret Library Book Blog and Jonetta@BlueMoodCafe. It is a time to spread some positivity amongst all the doom and gloom on social media and in the news. Please feel free to join in with your own Happy Friday post and link to Meggy’s post so that she knows and say ‘hi’
I didn’t post last week, so I have a lot of things to be grateful for this week.
I live in a suburban area that is 10 minutes out of a mid-size city. I can hop on my bike or go for a walk and see so many wonderful things. There are creeks, a couple of rivers, trails, forested area and farms all within a half hour ride. Animals, scenery and beautiful skies abound.
Of course, I always have to include how grateful I am that my children and grandchildren live near me. I love our visits, especially those in the pool. We had some fun times over the last couple of weeks.
I have to thank Zoé at Zooloo’s Book Diary and her post 10 Ways To Stay Healthy By Carol Wyer for introducing me to David Armand. He mimes songs and the guests have to guess the title. I laughed so hard, I almost wet myself. Check out some of his Youtube performances.
I am absolutely loving audiobooks offered on Netgalley. Such a variety and I am already auto-approved by Macmillan Audio. Woo Hoo!
I was paying almost $250.00/month for wifi internet, home phone and basic television. I thought that was a bit excessive being as the only people who called my home phone were scammers or solicitors and I really only watched the news and hallmark movies. So I finally took the plunge and cancelled. Called around and got unlimited wife for 70.00 per month and bought an Amazon Firestick. Got it all set up and I am loving it. I have Amazon Prime already, Netflix and Disney through my kids, sports online. Woo Hoo!
Hockey is back! I am watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs and my team made it in. Go Toronto Maple Leafs! They are down 2 games to 1 in a best of 5 series, so I need to send them some positive vibes.
Hallmark Movies! I watched about 6 different Christmas movies to celebrate Christmas in July. Also just because I love them all!
Exciting news this week that Sweet Magnolias on Netflix has been renewed for another season. Yay, we get to find out what happens next for our fearsome trio. So happy.
I was able to do some basic repairs around my house. I fixed an area of fence that was falling apart, sanded the gate so it would close properly and got some painting done. I always feel so accomplished when I am able to do these things myself and not have to ask for help.
My friend who has cancer is in surgery as I type this. I am grateful that there are so many medical advances that she has a better opportunity for remission than years ago. If you are a praying person, please pray for Krista’s recovery. 🙏🙏
This week, I drove by my church and stopped to walk around the outside. I was in awe of the amazing gardens and the volunteers that take care of them.
And of course, I am grateful for all those things that we take for granted: fresh air, transportation, freedom of speech, good health, and clean water and air.
I continue to believe that recognizing the good things that happen each week, means I will not dwell on the not so good things. I am truly blessed with all the good things in my life.
So to finish up, I ask that you try to be grateful for one thing each day and I am sure it will lift your spirits. What are you Grateful for today?
