Hello and Happy Friday! I decided to join in The Positivity Wave. Originally started by Meggy @Chocolate’n’Waffles but I saw it posted by nickimags @ The Secret Library Book Blog and Jonetta@BlueMoodCafe. It is a time to spread some positivity amongst all the doom and gloom on social media and in the news. Please feel free to join in with your own Happy Friday post and link to Meggy’s post so that she knows and say ‘hi’
This is two weeks of positivity, so I have a lot to share. First and foremost, as a proud grandma, I love to share positive stuff about my grandkids.
Valentine’s Day is always tough because I am alone, but, I was able to video chat with my kids and grandkids. My daughter also made me some cookies to give my grandchildren from their grandmama and this is my grandson, all excited in the morning. I loved seeing his huge smile.
This week my granddaughter had her orientation for Junior Kindergarten that she will start in September. I loved seeing how happy she was to go to school. She did not want to leave to come home. Her brother was so proud that he was going to “bring his sister to school.”
As you know, I am in Florida “snowbirding”. I have been working very hard to take care of myself while I am here. I am proud to say that I have been very successful.
- Each day, I have been walking and worked my way up to hour walks.
- I have also done at least one other type of activity each day (either riding the bike in the gym, water walking or aquafit.
- I have been eating healthy, limiting snacks and eating more salads, fruit etc.
- Since I have been in Florida (6 weeks) I have lost 12 pounds!
All the beauty and nature around here makes me appreciate what a wonderful world we live in. I love my walks when I can see things like this.
The weather has been amazing. Higher than normal temperatures with so much sun. I am getting so much Vitamin D that my outlook is super sunny.
I rescued a turtle. On one of my walks I noticed that one of the soft-shell turtles that live in the many ponds had gotten out onto the sidewalk near the roadway. I was worried it might get hit and killed. I called for help and one of the groundskeepers came and put him back in the pond.
I think I mentioned before that I have been diagnosed with cataracts and will be having minor eye surgery in June or July. Because of this, I can not read for prolonged periods of time. The good thing is that I have received some amazing Audiobooks for review, found some books I have been meaning to read on Hoopla and found a lot of great books on Kindle Unlimited that have the read/listen option. Because of that, I am still happily getting my book fix. Here a few of the 5 Star books I have listened to lately. I have been so lucky.
I also use Scribd and if you are interested in joining that subscription service, you can click here. I will be honest, if any of you join, I get 1 month free.
