Hello and Happy Friday! I decided to join in The Positivity Wave. Originally started by  Meggy @Chocolate’n’Waffles but I saw it posted by nickimags @ The Secret Library Book Blog  and Jonetta@BlueMoodCafe. It is a time to spread some positivity amongst all the doom and gloom on social media and in the news. Please feel free to join in with your own Happy Friday post and link to Meggy’s post so that she knows and say ‘hi’. I am a day late posting, but as you read this post you will understand why.

I have been on the road with my friend Sheila. Last Friday we checked into our resort in Myrtle Beach. Sheila had never been before so everything was a new experience for her and I loved sharing what I knew about about the area.

  • We walked on the beach
  • Visited an art gallery
  • Drove down to Charleston for a day
  • Spent a day in Georgetown
  • Of course spent one day shopping.

A few pictures of our adventure:

We moved on to St. Augustine, Florida and absolutely loved our time there. Would go back again. So much history and so many things to see. We had an amazing trolley driver, named Davey Jones. We even sang some of the Monkees songs. I was blown away by Flagler College, that used to be The Ponce De Leon Hotel. Being Presbyterian, loved the Flagler Memorial Presbyterian Church. If you are ever in the area, plan to spend a couple of days. Make sure you make time for the Whetstone Chocolate tour and sampling and the Distillery tour.

I left Wednesday, January 1st to head south and on Friday, January 3rd, my granddaughter came down with the same thing my grandson had. They got her started on antibiotics right away. Even though she and her mother spend three nights in the hospital, she is home and doing well. They learned from experience. So happy she is recovering so much faster than her brother did. The first picture is Sunday, the second on Wednesday.

  • When we arrived at this resort, a lot of the food in my cooler had thawed out. Today Sheila and I had a cooking marathon and cooked everything up to put in the freezer. We didn’t need to throw anything out.
  • Finally, I am thrilled that I am now in Weston, Florida for the next two weeks. It is 82 today, somewhat windy but beautiful.

What’s made you happy this week?
