Happy Friday! #ThePositivityWave #2

Hello and Happy Friday! I decided to join in The Positivity Wave. Originally started by  Meggy @ Chocolate’n’Waffles but I saw it posted by nickimags @ The Secret Library Book Blog and Jonetta@BlueMoodCafe. It is a time to spread some positivity amongst all the doom and gloom on social media and in the news. Please feel free to join in with your own Happy Friday post and link to Meggy’s post so that she knows and say ‘hi’.

What’s made me happy this week?

Zucchini! I bake with zucchini all winter long, so I grate it and put it in my freezer. I put a post on facebook asking if any of my friends has extra zucchini in their gardens that they would be willing to part with. A friend dropped several off, they are grated an in the freezer.

Rain! It has been so dry here, the grass is brown, the leaves are falling off the trees and everything has to watered or it will dry. We had a full day and night of a steady rain. My grass is started to turn green again.

It is only going up to the high seventies during the day, and in the sixties at night. I have been out working in the yard and swimming everyday in much more comfortable temperatures, then sitting outside at night to read. I’ve even been sleeping with the windows open and getting a good night’s sleep.

Family: Spent time with both my children and my grandchildren over the week. Watched my granddaughter perform with her pre-school ballet class.

Image may contain: dogI really miss having a dog since losing mine last July. My daughter went to an out of town wedding and my granddog spent the night. So great to have a puppy on my lap again.

He had a cochlear implant a couple of years ago and it is great to hear him talk and say my name as well as many other words that are able to be understood. He is so much better behaved now that he can communicate.

My healthy attitude continues and I lost another two pounds, Woo Hoo!

  1. My husband made some delicious banana bread today. I’m so thankful for it.

  2. What a lovely week you have had! ❤ x

  3. Hi Carla, your soup sure looks good. My happy place this week is the fact that my Mom came to visit. We’re having a great time playing scrabble, sightseeing and just getting caught up. We’ve never lived near each other so visits like this are precious.

  4. What a wonderful post, Carla! Thank you!
I am praying for cooler temperatures as I keep having dizzy spells because of the heat! The pool look so inviting, wait for me, I’m coming 😀
Your granddod looks adorable! And I am really happy you got to spend quality family time x

    • Thanks Carol. I like looking for the positives. I used to have a huge garden growing tomatoes, peppers, onions, beans, zucchini, squash, potatoes and rhubarb. The last three years, it has not been good. I have not had the time I need to take care of it. I’m going to rototill it under in the spring and plant grass. I hate to see it go, but it is time.

  6. What a lovely week, Carla! Great to have kids around. Would love to know how to do more than I know about zucchini😏 Have a great weekend!

  7. What a beautiful week you had! Happy weekend!

  8. Your granddaughter is adorable!
We picked grapes from the garden this week and they were sooo good! It’s our first time trying to grow them, so we were excited when the vine produced a crop 🙂

  9. I love garden zucchini! I freeze them too. This summer was the first time in years that we did not plant the garden and I miss it. I was thinking just the other day I should make some zucchini bread.
Have a great weekend and happy reading!

  10. What a fabulous week Carla I love that hamster at the end! 🐹

  11. You had an awesome week Carla! Your pool looks very inviting my friend!🙋💜
