On Sunday, my church held a used book sale to raise money to send kids to summer camp. There were so many books that they were practically giving them away. For $21.00 I purchased 8 children’s books and 16 novels for me. I also made another donation to their cause, but that was my choice. Here is what I got.
The Secret Affair (also called The Affair) by Gill Paul
The Perfect Christmas by Debbie Macomber which I apparently read 5 years ago, but will read again
Coronation Wives by Lizzie Lane
A Cowboy to Keep by Karen Rock
The Agatha Christie Mystery Collection (A.B.C. Murders) by Agatha Christie
Natural Thorn KillerΒ (Rose City Mystery #1) by Kate E. Dyer-Seeley
Silver Thaw (Mystic Creek #1) by Catherine Anderson
Wartime at Woolworths (Woolworths #3)Β by Elaine Everest
All My Mother’s Secrets: A Powerful True Story of Love, Loss and a Family Torn Apart by Beezy Marsh
Secret Sister by Cherry Durbin
The First Lady by James Patterson
One Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern
The Piano Teacher by Janice Y. K. Lee
The Little Old Lady Strikes Again by Catharina Ingelman-Sundberg
Fear the Worst by Linwood Barclay
Magic Schoolbus:
The Jellybeans and the Big Art Adventure by Laura Joffe Numeroff
10 Drowsy Dinosaurs by Wendy Frood Auger
Puppy Mudge Finds a Friend by Cynthia Rylant
Henry and Mudge and the Big Sleepover by Cynthia Rylant
So there you have it, my book haul from a used book sale. I will not be adding these to my Stacking the Shelves this week, because these will go on my shelf and someday, I may get to them.
What do you think? Have you read any of these books? If I get a chance, which one should I read first?

I sort of knew about them, but my grandson has gotten hooked on Magic School Bus on Netflix, so when I saw them, I had to grab them.

I haven’t read a single Agatha Christie book, I know, hard to believe. I am looking forward to my first one, even if it is the last Poirot story.

My favorite of hers are the ones with the characters Tommy and Tuppence. They actually age throughout the books. So the earliest ones are them as a young couple, then when they’re middle aged and later when they’re more mature.

I hadn’t heard of these ones. If I like this one, I will check them out. I think there were some other Agatha Christie books at the sale, so maybe I will double check the boxes we stored away.

Whenever we went to a flea market while on vacation, he tried to steer me clear of any stalls selling secondhand books, he usually wasn’t successful. Always had a boxfull to take home. π

Fantastic score! I love looking for children’s books. I only by hardcover for myself now and few and far between. Mostly because I can no longer read mass paperback..the print is too small, and it hurts my hands to hold them.

I like the large paperbacks as they have a larger text. The small ones are tougher, but I can read them when my eyes are fresh. I have so many kids books, my grandkids never have to visit the library, they can just come to Grandma’s house. ππ

I listened to Silver Thaw by Catherine Anderson last year and I absolutely loved it! Great haul, Carla! I’m jealous again because there’s no such used book sales in Japan…

What a great opportunity to share books with others and help kids too. I bet you felt like a kid in a candy store.

Wow!! Nice haul my friend! My kids read the Mudge and School Bus books when they were learning how to read! The only one I’ve read is the Macomber book and it was a good one! Have a great day Carla!ππββ

Thanks Susan. I have never read a Mudge book (I know a retired teacher librarian and I never read Mudge) but I hope my grandson likes them. He is in French Immersion at school, so I hope to help him read in English at my place. Have a wonderful day Susan. It is sunny her today, Woo Hoo. Hope to get in the pool again today. πππ§ββοΈ
