An ex-husband, two potential lovers, one reckless decision. Will Connie ever be happy in love?
When Connie Stone leaves behind a cheating husband and heartache in the UK for her aunt’s beach retreat, the last thing she wants is for her life to once again be complicated by men.
Yet when her past follows her to Tanzania, her time to heal is short-lived and a selfish act shatters her hopes for a fresh start. An unexpected return to the UK reveals a long-hidden family secret that Connie has to deal with before she can decide the direction her life should take.
Getting over a broken heart was never going to be easy. Can Connie put the past to rest and find peace and love in a country far from home?
This is a beautiful, emotional story about dealing with loss, second chances, family, and romance, all in a beautiful setting. Connie Stone is trying to rebuild her life following her husband’s betrayal, the loss of her unborn child and an attempted suicide. She heads to Tanzania to spend time with her Aunt Bella at her exclusive resort. While there she begins to heal until her ex shows up and Connie makes some unexpected decisions that could cost her the new peace she was beginning to find. Other secrets and revelations along the way force Connie, Bella, her family and Theo to make decisions and figure out what family means and what they are willing to do to protect it.
This is the perfect summer read. I loved the descriptions of the various settings. I want to head to South Africa to see it myself. The story was well plotted with a couple of huge twists that had me racing through this story. The characters were real and very well developed. I could envision them and felt like these were people I would like to know. I felt for Connie and all she had gone through and was still going through. She has so much baggage that she had to deal with and she was so lucky to have people to help her through some of it. I loved watching her grow and move on as she learned new things about herself. I do not want to give this story away, but suffice it to say, this story has a Happily Ever After, but there is so much to deal with to get to that ending. Between the exotic locations, the wonderful characters, the sexy men and the love of family, there is something for everyone in this book.

Thanks Linda, the summary doesn’t really do the book justice at all.

If only we all had unlimited budgets to travel to all the places we read about and fell in love with. This one would definitely be high on that list.
