I really liked this meme started by Rae Longest at Powerful Women Readers and had planned to make this a weekly post. Alas, life got in the way and I have not posted a Saturday Morning For Kids since late November. I plan to rectify that and get back on track, so here goes.
Today, I want to highlight Junie B. Jones
Now that my grandson in in Kindergarten, I dug out any Junie B books that I had. We had seven of them. My daughter loved this series, especially when her brother read them to her, and I am looking forward to sharing them with my grandson.
The first book in the series is Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus (Junie B. Jones #1) by Barbara Park, and illustrated by Denise Brunkus. For some reason I can’t find my copy of that one (I think it might have fallen apart).
About the Book (From Goodreads): Meet the World’s Funniest Kindergartner—Junie B. Jones! Remember when it was scary to go to school? In the first Junie B. Jones book, it’s Junie B.’s first day and she doesn’t know anything. She’s so scared of the school bus and the meanies on it that when it’s time to go home, she doesn’t.
Do you have young ones getting ready to start school? Make sure you have Junie B on hand to share with them.
Have a wonderful weekend, and don’t forget to read to someone today.

We had quite a few at one time, but only 7 left. They are such fun and when kids can read them by themselves it is awesome.
