So I am actually posting this on Tuesday as I spent yesterday just catching up after my busy weekend. I started on Friday attending my grandson’s field trip to the apple orchard. It was quite cool and after chasing my granddaughter around, I was absolutely exhausted by the time we got home. Following a small dinner party at my sisters, a warm glass of apple cider with a shot of spiced rum, I had no trouble falling asleep.
We really did pick apples as well, but they loved playing more I think.
On Saturday, I left and drove up to Toronto with my sister and sister-in-law to see the rock opera, Bat Out of Hell. It was amazing. The worst part of the trip was the drive there. We started driving through the rain, then is switched to snow/sleet. I was ready for another hot toddy when we arrived at the hotel for the night.
My daughter is always complaining that I do not know how to take a selfie, I guess this proves she is right.
As far as my reading this week, I did not stick to plan. I listened to a lot of Kindle Unlimited books while working in the yard, the house, riding the stationary bike etc. I am caught up on the Tracy Crosswhite series by Robert Dugoni and also listened to a few other thriller/suspense. Time to get back on my plan and finish up a few romance. I also have some blog tours coming up, so must read the books for them as well.
Between meetings, babysitting and baking that pretty much takes up the rest of my week. I am working on catching up on reading everyone’s blogs, hopefully by tomorrow night, but we shall see. Bye for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful week coming up.

Another week full of family and fun. Sounds like a success to me. 🙂
Boo for the snow/sleet. We probably have a couple more weeks before anything that sticks *crosses fingers*. Right now I wish it would stay dry for two days so we can get the leaves raked before it’s too late. Have a wonderful week!

Thanks Myndi, I wish you the same. I was just telling my son the same thing yesterday about the rain. The leaves are so wet right now and there are so many that I need to get to them soon. We actually had sun yesterday so that is good news.

Much quieter. I have been reading and watching Hallmark movies for the last couple of days.

Thanks Jen. I hope you all have a great Halloween. Question for you: Do the children in your area go out and Trick or Treat tonight?

We are having a great one so far. Out trick or treating right now! 😉❤ Do you guys do that in Canada? Probably a silly question. Haha 😂

We do, but I live in an older neighbourhood so I do not get kids coming here, I miss it.

Aww, yeah we don’t get kids either because we live way out in the country. We just drove into town to take our kids. It was a little cool, but no rain at least. I do miss having trick or treated too. I hope you guys had a nice Halloween. 😉❤🎃

Thanks Sassy. I am not a huge apple cider lover, but when it is made fresh it is so good.

You are a grandmother with the “mostest!” What a fun time you must have had–and not too cold it seems.

Thanks Susan. I think they are adorable, but I might be a bit impartial. It is a recumbent bike so not too hard on my knees which I need. I can also read or listen to a book while I am doing it. I bought it at a yardsale so paid less than half of what a new one would cost. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles, but all I need are pedals, a timer and tension control.

I had a very productive but exhausting day yesterday (Mon.) and worked with pre-K through second graders this morning and through the lunch hour. It was book fair week, and tonight is Literacy Night where parents get to come to the book fair after working hours and purchase books for their kids. I felt so sorry for the kids who came “shopping” that I spent over twenty dollars and didn’t come home with a single book! LOL All afternoon was spent preparing for my Advanced Writing class at the university tomorrow. It is evening news time (5:30 CST) and I still have supper to set up and another batch of cookies (pumpkin nut, of course) to bake for tomorrow’s class. I am handing back Argument/Research papers tomorrow–the grading marathon is over! IF I make it through this week, things should calm down, somewhat.

I help my friend at her school with her bookfairs throughout the year. It is such a wonderful event, I love seeing the happy smiles when the children leave with a book. I thought you were retiring Rae? Hopefully you will be able to rest on the weekend.

This is my new job–volunteering. What I have done for the last 30 years is teach juniors and seniors at the university. Before that I taught 3 years at the local community college, and before that I taught almost 20 years teaching junior high. This volunteer job with pre K through 2nd grade is all new to me. My teaching certificate goes no lower than 6th grade. I am currently retiring from30 years of teaching adults.
