My Review: I have read a few of the books in the Animal Rescue series and I am quite impressed with them. They are great books for beginning chapter reader whether boys or girls. Animal Magic is a family run Animal Rescue Centre. Ella and Caleb help their mom who is a vet, run the centre. Caleb puts the animals pictures and descriptions on the website trying to find them a forever home. In this story, Ella finds a lab puppy left in a box just outside the gate of the Rescue Centre. Caleb finds clues on the box to help determine who dropped the puppy off. For some reason, he is sure that the owner wants the puppy back. They find out who the possible owner is and set out to see if she really meant to drop her puppy off at Animal Magic. The family in the book are wonderful characters. They care about the animals and do whatever they can to find them new “Forever Homes”. Read about the Harrison family and Animal Magic. These books will entertain as well as teach the readers about animal rescues. The illustrations are black and white drawings but are cute and add just enough to the story while keeping it age appropriate. A great book for school and classroom libraries as well as for a gift for that beginning reader who loves animals. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.
