Synopsis: Sophie sees Mr Jenkins’ labrador puppy, Buttons, climb out of the window. She thinks she’s running away again, but Buttons isn’t playing around this time – something at home is very wrong, but how can she let Sophie know?

My Review: This is a cute puppy story that young readers will love. Buttons is a chocolate labrador puppy that has a lot of energy. When her owner, Mr. Jenkins, becomes ill he can no longer take him for the long walks he needs. When he ends up in the hospital, Sophie and her brothers Tom and Michael take care of him. They take him for long walks and teach him basic commands. When Mr. Jenkins returns home he realized that it is not fair to Buttons to live with an old man who can not take him for walks and let him burn off his energy. A cute story with short chapters to appeal to young readers. A great book for a late primary/early junior class library.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
